Welcome to Borgund Lodge

Proud Chapter of the Sons of Norway

The Borgund Lodge is the Western South Dakota Chapter of the Sons of Norway. We invite everyone who is Norwegian, married to a Norwegian, or is simply interested in Norwegian culture to come join us. We offer a variety of experiences including monthly meetings, Culture Classes teaching Norwegian crafts and culture, and an annual Sons of Norway sale.

The Lodge is also a gateway to a larger North American Norwegian family with great opportunities to explore, experience, and enjoy the deep and wonderful traditions of Norway and Norwegian Americans.

The Sons of Norway is the largest Norwegian-American organization in the world. If you are passionate about preserving and promoting Norwegian heritage and culture, as we are, we invite you to explore and JOIN!

2023 Social Calendar

All events are held at the Canyon Lake Activity Center

Jan. 27, Friday, 6:30pm - Bingo with popcorn and soft drinks, and prizes for all ages and genders.

2023 Culture Classes

All Classes are held at the Canyon Lake Activity Center
and run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
There must be a minimum of 4 students per class in order to hold the classes.
Please email for further information concerning costs of class and materials.

Spring Classes

Classes - Cooking (only 3 classes), Hardanger, Literature, Rosemaling, and Wood Carving

Mar. 6, Mar. 13, Mar. 20, Mar. 27, Apr. 3, Apr. 10

Classes are free for Sons of Norway members, BUT, classes MAY have a fee for supplies.
Each class must have at least 4 participants to teach it.
